Wal-mart has set its sights on Centerton for a new Neighborhood Market, with plans to be announced Wednesday morning (Sept. 25) at a press event at the Centerton City Hall.
The 41,000 square-foot store will be located off of Greenhouse Road. Construction is expected to begin early next year with the store opening in the fall of 2014.
Wal-Mart said the new store will create 95 new jobs in Centerton.
Centerton was one of the fastest growing areas in the country between 2000 and 2010. The local population ballooned from 2,146 people to more than 9,515 according to the 2010 Census.
Centerton is also the site for what will be Bentonville’s second high school. The school district chose Centerton because of the vast number of households in that area.
