Butterball has named Zero Mountain Inc. as the Warehouseman of the Year for 2012.
The Lowell, Ark., operation of Zero Mountain Inc., has worked with Butterball as a vendor partner since 1974, and in 2012, stored and shipped 272,247,729 pounds —106,626,640 pounds of the total volume was delivered to Butterball customers in less than 60 days.
The average dock turn time for customer and Butterball delivered trucks was 1 hour and 14 minutes, far less than Butterball’s 2-hour goal, and dock cuts were nearly 0%.
Zero Mountain has worked to accommodate Butterball production and logistics by reducing overtime and identifying issues with pallets that saved significant cost in 2012.
Garner, N.C.-based Butterball created the “Warehouseman of the Year” awards to honor the works of a crucial link in the supply chain that supports the company's market plan.
