Springdale-based George’s Inc. has appointed Carl George and Charles George as co-CEO and presidents for the chicken processing company.
Chief executive Gary George is stepping aside from the day-to-day operations, but will continue as company chairman.
“Our family built this company with an uncompromising dedication to quality,” said Gary George. “We have always been committed to treating our customers, employees, and independent contract growers with respect, honesty and loyalty. Those same values will continue to guide our company as the fourth generation leads George’s.”
The executive duties of Carl and Charles George will be split as Carl will lead areas of live production and processing, while Charles will oversee sales, accounting, human resources, quality assurance and purchasing.
In 2012, George’s ranked No. 12 among U.S. poultry company’s, moving up from No. 15 in the prior year. Average weekly slaughter last year was 4.92 million head.
